As mentioned in the title, 'sambut menantu' is a ceremony where the wedding is hosted by the groom's family.The ceremony likely will be just as same as wedding day on the bride's side.
Usually , majlis sambut menantu will be held a week , or fortnight later after the ceremony at the girl's house.The function of Majlis sambut menantu is to introduce the girl , which is the new member of the groom's family to their relatives , neighbor , and in their resident area or village.By doing this , everyone will be acknowledged about the newlywed couple.
In Majlis sambut menantu , the couple will be celebrated in pelamin again , and the same actions like what happened in bersanding will be done to the couple.However , there are some places where the couple do not need to perform Bersanding again and they just have to greet all the guests.The couple and guest will be celebrated with traditional foods and also mixed of tasty delicacies.
